how to recognize it

identification

Fusiform body of a curimatid, without the series of dark stripes that other Cyphocharax have. No large spot on the body or dorsal fin, no spot or dark band on the caudal peduncle, and the peduncle is slender. Its plain coloring separates it from most species in the genus.
