who is the pacific grenadier

The Pacific grenadier belongs to the family Macrouridae and reaches 104 cm, weighing up to 3 kg. It lives on deep-water slopes, usually between 900 and 1,300 m, in the North Pacific, from Japan to northern Mexico. It stays on the bottom of the slope but sometimes rises into the water above it. Adults eat small fish, krill, shrimp, amphipods and cephalopods. Eggs are released into the water, and the larvae live in the plankton. It is a species of commercial interest and is not a target of sport fishing.
