who is the smooth oreo dory
A fish of the family Oreosomatidae, with a short, deep body, reaching 68 cm and up to 5 kg. It lives on the continental slope, usually 900 to 1,100 m deep, near the bottom as an adult. Juveniles stay near the surface, with krill. It eats mainly salps, gelatinous plankton animals. Eggs float near the surface, and so do the larvae. It does not make vertical migrations, neither by day nor by night. It is of interest only to commercial fishing, in very deep waters.
Essential profile. Identification, where it occurs and rules, with data from FishBase and the cited regulations. Season, time of day, technique and bait are added once we have a good source for the smooth oreo dory.

We found no species-specific rule beyond the region's general rules.
catch and release
catch and release Releasing the fish alive, quickly and with a wet hand. During a closed season it isn't always allowed: what the regulation says applies.
It is not dangerous. If it is brought up from great depth, the change in pressure can cause barotrauma; release it carefully.
how much it weighs without taking it out of the water
Length-weight relationship W = a·Lb (a = 0.0195, b = 3.0; FishBase (relação peso-comprimento bayesiana, estimativa)). It's an average: a fat or lean fish can vary by 10% to 20%.
