more about the black wing flyingfish

Flyingfish of the family Exocoetidae. It reaches 30 cm and lives at the surface of the open sea, in subtropical waters, where it forms schools. In the western Atlantic it ranges from Massachusetts and Bermuda to southern Brazil, and it also occurs in the eastern Atlantic, in parts of Europe and Africa. It feeds on zooplankton. The references say it is of little importance to fishing. Because it lives far from the coast, it is almost never reached by recreational fishing.
