how to recognize it

identification

Slender smooth-hound shark of the genus Mustelus, with no spines on the dorsal fins. It lives on rocky bottoms near islands, in the 70 to 100 m band, which helps separate it from other smooth-hounds of the South Pacific coast. Similar species include the spotted smooth-hound and the sharp-tooth smooth-hound; the hunchback is the one that prefers the rocky bottom around islands.
