overview

who is the armed croaker

The spotted croaker (armada) is an uncommon fish of the family Sciaenidae, living in shallow coastal waters of the tropical eastern Pacific, from the Gulf of California to Panama. It reaches 30 cm, with a common size of 20 cm. It enters estuaries and river mouths, and feeds mainly on crustaceans. It has a dorsal fin divided into two parts, as croakers generally do. Because it is uncommon, there are no records of its use in fishing.

Essential profile. Identification, where it occurs and rules, with data from FishBase and the cited regulations. Season, time of day, technique and bait are added once we have a good source for the armed croaker.
