how to recognize it

identification

Fusiform fish with two dorsal fins, the front one spiny, a trait of the family Moronidae. The name comes from the yellowish tone of the body. It lives in pools and backwaters of rivers and in lakes. To tell it apart from the white bass, of the same genus and the same region, look at the yellowish tone, which gives the species its name.
