itá lake — uruguay river

Hydroelectric lake on the Uruguay River, between Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. Trahira, jundiá and piava, with dorado in the river.

The Itá plant's lake flooded the Uruguay River valley and its tributaries, with long arms between hills and forest. It's lake fishing: trahira in shallow coves and brush, jundiá and piava on the bottom, carp and tilapia in numbers. Below the dam and in the current stretches, dorado appears. The town of Itá was rebuilt on the lakeshore, with a waterfront and tourist infrastructure. Boat and bank fishing, with natural and artificial baits.
