catch and release
catch and release Releasing the fish alive, quickly and with a wet hand. During a closed season it isn't always allowed: what the regulation says applies.

The fin spines cut, and the black bass has a patch of teeth in its mouth: hold it carefully by the jaw and return it promptly.

in the kitchen

It is used for subsistence, so it is eaten by the people who catch it.
