aracaju — sergipe river estuary
The capital between two estuaries, the Sergipe River and the Vaza-Barris. Snook and tarpon near the city.
Aracaju sits between the Sergipe River estuary to the north and the Vaza-Barris estuary to the south, with mangroves, sandbanks and channels a few minutes from downtown. Snook fishing is the most sought after, in the mangrove roots and at channel mouths; tarpon, pescada-amarela and crevalle jack complete the list. On the Orla de Atalaia waterfront and at the jetties, casting for sororoca and passing crevalle jack. It is good urban fishing, with big-city facilities.
