CODOPESCA issues the Sport/Tourist Fishing License, requested at its headquarters (Santo Domingo) or at the agency's service stations, with a form, ID or passport (non-resident foreigners) and photos. The CODOPESCA services page lists RD$1,000 (checked in 2026). Law 307-04 requires a CODOPESCA license for anyone who practices sport fishing in the country. On a sport fishing boat, confirm with the operator whether the license is included.

  • Fishing prohibited in spawning, breeding and nursery areas designated by CODOPESCA (Law 307-04, art. 42).

The rules and closed seasons in the rest of the app are Brazilian. Outside Brazil, the regulations of the country and province apply: confirm with the official agency.
