lajeado lake — palmas

Tocantins hydroelectric lake at the gate of the capital. Peacock bass and croaker with big-city logistics.

The UHE Lajeado lake borders Palmas and stretches more than 150 km along the Tocantins River. It has beaches, rock beds, dead-tree stands and flooded tributaries. Blue and yellow peacock bass on rocky points and in the logs, Piauí croaker on the bottom, payara in the main-channel current, trahira in shallow coves. A good destination for those with little time: you can fish half a day and be back at the hotel. The arms and tributaries far from town get less fishing pressure.
