Fishery about 40 minutes from Porto Alegre, with a 66,000 m² lake and dorados over 18 kg already caught and released, according to the house.
Gabardo is in Montenegro, in the Caí Valley, and has a main 66,000 m² lake, fed by 15 other lakes used only to raise fish to release size, according to the official website. The house list includes dorado, tilapia, pacu, surubim, tambacu, trahira and bighead, Hungarian, grass and common carp. Dorado fishing is the house's signature: the fishery records fish over 18 kg, used to eating floating feed at the surface. Sport fishing applies to all species, and only tilapia may be taken home. A June 2022 report included Gabardo in a selection of ten fisheries in the country.

Open Tuesday to Sunday, including holidays. Dorado and tambacu feed more in the warm months; in the Rio Grande do Sul winter, favor the sunny hours.
Local rules: House rules: sport fishing allowed for all species, with quick release; only tilapia may be taken, weighed whole before cleaning; fishing nets banned; no drinks brought from outside. Dorado and surubim are on Rio Grande do Sul's list of threatened species (Decreto estadual 51.797/2014), and at this fishery dorado is always returned to the lake. Never take fish from the fishery to release into a river, lake or reservoir: introducing an animal outside its natural range without technical opinion and license is an environmental offense, with fines from R$2,000 plus R$200 per fish (Decreto federal 6.514/2008, art. 25). Fishing license: confirm with the fishery and Sema-RS whether it is required to fish there. Check local rules.

For dorado, the groundbait float with floating feed works because the fish is used to feeding at the surface; use reinforced tackle and a hook that releases easily, so you can return the fish quickly.
