cidreira fishing pier — cidreira
Concrete pier about 500 m out to sea on the northern coast of Rio Grande do Sul, open all year with an entry fee. Croaker, bluefish, mullet and flounder.
The Cidreira pier runs about 500 m out over the sea from the beach, on a concrete deck that ends in a T, and takes anglers past the surf line. It operates all year for holders of an annual pass and receives visitors with a day ticket of 6 or 12 hours. The pier's own 2026 annual challenge rules cite croaker, mullet, bluefish, flounder and weakfish among the species with a minimum size for recording. Fishing is from the bottom and by casting, with a rod and spinning or baitcasting reel, and there are artificial reefs around it. Cidreira is the northern-coast beach closest to Porto Alegre.
best season
Autumn and spring, outside the bluefish closed season (Dec 1 to Mar 31). The pier operates all year.
