vitória — blue marlin
Brazil's blue marlin capital. Summer season with big fish and long trips to blue water.
Vitória is known for big blue marlin caught on the platform's drop-off, where warm water from the Brazil Current passes. Trips are long, several hours to the fishing spot, and need a prepared boat. Trolling with artificial and natural lures targets blue marlin, white marlin and sailfish. Mahi-mahi, tuna and cavala-empinge give action on the way. In season there are tournaments and a fleet of offshore fishing boats in the city.
