itajaí and balneário camboriú
The country's largest fishing port and the Balneário Camboriú waterfront. Jetties, islands and shoals with bluefish and olhete.
Itajaí is the capital of industrial fishing in Brazil, and the mouth of the Itajaí-Açu River, with its jetties, is a classic casting spot: bluefish, croaker, cutlassfish and snook depending on the season. Boat trips from Itajaí or Balneário Camboriú reach the coast's islands and shoals, which produce olhete, xerelete, skipjack tuna and grouper on jigs and trolling. Fishing with big-city facilities and plenty of boat options.
